Last spring I traveled to Denmark on a school exchange trip. This painting documents the moment when my friend Jacob was on facetime with his dad showing him the tattoo he had just decided to get. The moment was extremely spontaneous but also juxta-posingly reflected the Danish word Hygge, which translates to a quality of coziness and contentment.
