One of my goals this summer was to practice and gain more skills in realism. I worked on this painting of Lil Yachty for an entire month and listened to his experimental rock album “Let’s Start Here.” on repeat the entire time. Combining pastels on top of the acrylic paint helped me blend colors and get a heightened sense of realism. My favorite parts of this painting are Yachty’s shirt detail and facial expression.
